Dear Future NCHS Rams and Families, In less than six months, you will officially become part of the NCHS family! As you navigate the second half of eighth grade, we know you're already thinking about and planning for your freshman year. We are committed to making your transition to high school a smooth and exciting experience. We invite you to join us for NCHS Freshman Orientation Night, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore New Canaan High School and get a glimpse of what it’s like to be an NCHS Ram. Throughout the evening, you’ll tour different parts of the school, meet faculty and students, and learn more about the many programs and opportunities available to you. As part of the event, we’ve scheduled five 15-minute sessions designed to introduce you to our instructional disciplines and spaces and the wide range of academic subjects offered to freshmen. These sessions will help you understand the content, expectations, and commitments involved in each program, so you can make informed choices about your course selections. We hope these sessions will not only provide insight into areas you’re already interested in but also spark excitement about new electives and opportunities. Your freshman year is an important step in your academic journey, and we want you to feel confident in your course selections—choosing a program that challenges you while allowing you to explore your interests. Our NCHS School Counselors will be joining your group tour to answer any questions about scheduling, graduation requirements, and planning a balanced program of study. Whether you have questions or just want to get a feel for life at NCHS, they are here to support you every step of the way! We can’t wait to welcome you to campus and introduce you to all that NCHS has to offer.
