NEW CANAAN, CT (May 14, 2024) - New Canaan Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Siobhan McCormack as the new Assistant Principal of South Elementary School. Ms. McCormack brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, having served in various educational leadership capacities throughout her career. Ms. McCormack will replace Zoe Robinson, who has been recently appointed as the new principal of East Elementary School.
Dr. Bryan Luizzi, Superintendent of New Canaan Public Schools, expressed his enthusiasm about Ms. McCormack's appointment, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Ms. McCormack to the New Canaan Public Schools community. Siobhan's recent experience as an assistant principal, coupled with her exemplary teaching experience, make her the ideal candidate to join our administrative team at South Elementary School."
Ms. McCormack joins New Canaan Public Schools from Ox Ridge School in Darien, CT, where she served as the Interim Assistant Principal during the 2023-2024 school year. Before this role, Ms. McCormack served as a Literacy Coach at various schools in Fairfield and Westport, and as a classroom teacher, having taught grades 4 and 5 at Riverfield School in Fairfield, CT. In response to her appointment, Ms. McCormack emphasized her commitment to collaboration, stating, "I am honored to join the dedicated team at South Elementary School and am looking forward to collaborating with the existing strong and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. "

Ms. McCormack will officially assume her role as Assistant Principal of South Elementary School on July 1, 2024.
