NEW CANAAN, CT (July 26, 2024)—New Canaan Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Theresa McIntosh, BSN, RN, as the new District Nursing Supervisor. McIntosh will replace Janet Reed, who retired in June 2024.
Ms. McIntosh joins New Canaan Public Schools from Greenwich Public Schools, where she served as a Senior Public Health Nurse since 2019. Her impressive career spans over a decade, during which she has managed specialized medical needs for students, developed comprehensive care plans, maintained health records, and provided essential training and education for staff on emergency medications. McIntosh also played a crucial role in managing the COVID-19 response, including contact tracing and developing quarantine protocols.
McIntosh's professional experience also includes roles as a Registered Nurse at both Greenwich Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital, where she provided exemplary care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
Ms. McIntosh expressed her excitement about joining New Canaan Public Schools: "I am incredibly honored to join the New Canaan Public Schools community as the District Nursing Supervisor. I am passionate about ensuring that every student is cared for and has access to resources and staff who can support them and their specific needs. McIntosh was welcomed to the district on July 1, 2024 and will use her expertise to enhance the district’s health services and ensure a safe and supportive educational environment for all staff and students.
