NEW CANAAN, CT (September 9, 2024): New Canaan Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Elmer Reynoso as the new District Transportation Coordinator. With extensive experience in school transportation management and an ongoing commitment to efficiency, Reynoso is well-positioned to lead the district's transportation system and ensure students' safety and timely transport across all grade levels.
Mr. Reynoso joins New Canaan Public Schools after nearly a decade of working in the Greenwich Public Schools transportation system. Most recently, he served as the district's Transportation Director, where he successfully managed a fleet of 100 buses. Prior to that, Reynoso also worked as a Terminal Manager for Student Transportation of America and a Project Manager for Transpar Group, where he directly oversaw Greenwich's transportation contracts. In this position, he was vital in launching a new school start time, redesigning transportation schedules, and training new transportation managers.
Dr. Bryan Luizzi, Superintendent of New Canaan Public Schools, expressed his enthusiasm for Reynoso's appointment, stating, "We're delighted to welcome Elmer to our team. With his background in managing large-scale transportation systems and his focus on efficiency and innovation, we're confident he'll be a valuable addition to our district. Reynoso joined the district on August 31, 2024, and has been quickly acclimating to his new role. With his expertise and dedication, he continues the district's commitment to building a safe, efficient, and successful transportation system for New Canaan students.
