On December 16th, The 6th Grade Chorus students from Saxe Middle School visited East to bring in some holiday cheer by performing their favorite holiday songs in the East school lobby. The performance supported the student's food drive to collect donations for Filling in the Blanks, a non-profit dedicated to providing meals for children in need throughout Fairfield and Westchester County.
Under the direction of Dedra Sagerstrand, 25 Saxe students performed a variety of holiday songs as students entered the East building on Friday morning. Students were thrilled with the surprise visit and even stopped to join the singing of their favorite holiday songs.
This visit was an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the music program at Saxe and to become aware of the different ways they can help their community. We love having our schools interact and for our students to be seen as positive role models by others. Many thanks to all who helped facilitate this performance!
