Mathematics

While we encourage any student who would like to work on a summer packet to do so, we require all students who had an appeal approved to do a summer packet and give it to their math teacher during the first week of the new school year.

Social Studies

Please review the sections below for outlines of this year's Summer Assignments for Social Studies:

AP United States History

  • In preparation for next year's study of US History, there is an OPTIONAL summer assignment: read and take notes on the first five chapters of the American Pageant. Stop by room 207 to pick up a copy of the text. During the summer, copies will be available at the front desk of the main office.

AP World: Modern:

Details regarding the AP World History Summer Assignment can be found HERE.

Please note: ALL WORK MUST BE COMPLETED BY HAND!

  1. Complete the packet of “Religions Charts” available in room 102. These will be available in the main office after the school year ends. Remember,

they must be done by hand!

We are purposely limiting the space you have to write in the charts in order to force you to summarize your knowledge. Suggested websites are included at the end of the packet, and you may also refer to notes from your Freshman World History Class.

  2. Read and annotate the book,

    When Asia Was the World

, written by Stewart Gordon.  This book may be purchased online.  For your purpose, annotation should mean to both take notes in the margins AND to use sticky notes to reference what you believe to be significant sections. Much of this information was touched upon in some way during your Freshman World History class. Some of this information will also be relevant to your religions charts.

Due Date: September 9th/10th
