On Friday, November 11th, South Elementary School held their annual Veterans Day Program; a long-standing tradition that remains an anticipated highlight of the school year. This year's event was even more exciting since it was the first time in over two years that the assembly was held in-person for the entire school to attend.
Speaking at the gathering were thirteen United States Veterans, each of which had direct ties to students or members here at South Elementary School. This included fathers, grandfathers, neighbors and even some of our very own staff members, such as P.E. Teacher Mr. MacDonald, our Campus Monitor, Mr. Pennoyer, and our South School New Canaan Police Liaison, Officer Roy Adams.
Thank our committee of teachers, stage and students who helped plan and participate in this year's event. We would like to thank our South School staff members for sharing their military service stories, and of course, all past and present U.S. Veterans for their service to this great country!
