#100 Kindergarten Rocks!

  • Completing Pre-K

  • 9:00 - 12:00   South School  $220

Offered exclusively for children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2024, this camp will ease the worry of the unknown and generate excitement for the year ahead.  Campers will experience typical routines in kindergarten, while learning valuable social, motor and academic skills.  We’ll also be reading books, singing songs and sharing poetry that kindergarten teachers would love to know are part of a child’s “invisible backpack” as they enter school in the fall.

#101  Top Chef Jr.

  • Completing grades K-2

Open up and say yummmm!  In this weeklong camp, you will learn the sweet science behind cooking and baking some amazing food!  Our top chefs and their assistants will help you whip up some old favorites to some brand new, top-secret recipes.   By the end of the week, you will be able to go home and turn your own kitchen into a world-famous eatery!

#102  Summer Institute of Writing

  • Completing grades 1 - 6

 Come live the writerly life!  Here’s the chance for those who love to write to unleash their creativity in a nurturing community of writers.  Each morning begins with unique activities to stimulate the senses and inspire the writer within.  Daily mini-workshops are offered for specific ages for personal writing explorations. If you love to write, all you need to bring is your imagination.   (This is not a remedial writing program.)

#103 All-New American Girls

  • Completing grades 1 - 4

This ever-popular camp is back with new and exciting ways of exploring American History through the characters of the American Girl books and dolls. We’ll focus on dolls from all eras, including the present, as we play games and cook recipes, make crafts, enjoy music and have a ton of fun. As you discover how these brave, creative, adventurous and caring girls lived, you’ll reflect on your own talents, hopes and dreams.  So bring your friends (and dolls, of course) as we celebrate being American girls!

#104 Thrilling Telescopes!

  • Completing grades 3-6

  •  10:30-12:30  New Canaan High School Dome  $160

By using the DOME, students will learn the basics of navigating our night sky with a focus on what can be seen by the many different types of telescopes we have to view the universe around us.  Through experimentation, students will also learn about how lenses work and use what they learn to build and test their own telescopes.

#105 Battle Bots

Are you ready to design, build, and battle your own combat robot? Our Battle Bot Camp is an exciting hands-on experience where participants will learn the fundamentals of robotics, engineering, and competition strategy. Over the course of the camp, students will work as individuals or in teams to construct their own battle bot, equipped with motors, moving parts, and protection, and put it to the test in an epic showdown!

#106 Knots and Stiches

 This is not your mother’s knitting club!  Join us for this week-long exploration of the art of textiles.  Not only will you be casting on and off with your yarn and knitting needles, you’ll also learn the fine art of weaving and macrame.  Even if you've knitted before, instructor Grainsky will show you more advanced techniques. So don’t get too tied up this summer--join us for a week of knitting and more!

 Dive into a world of creativity at our Book Arts Adventure! Campers will explore a variety of fun and unique types of books, including but not limited to pop-up stories, spine-bound and the accordian style. Through hands-on activities, children will discover the magic of storytelling and create their own imaginative books. This activity sparks creativity, promotes early literacy, and invites young minds to experience the endless possibilities of bookmaking!

 Any fashion-forward person knows that the key to great fashion is the accessories.  Create your very own unique fashion statement and become a trendsetter.  Style and customize your own jewelry, headbands, hair ties, belts, and clothing just the way you want them.  You name it, we can make it!

 Step into the world of crafting!  In this camp you will learn the basics of a design program and create using a Cricut Machine. Come explore the beauty and creativity of crafting as we make T-shirts, stickers, mugs, and more!

#111 Summer Strings: Tune Up and Play!

Join us for Summer Strings: Tune Up & Play, a fun-filled week of music and games designed especially for string students who have at least one year of experience playing a string instrument! Young musicians will have the chance to improve their playing technique, boost music literacy, and explore some fun tunes. Through a variety of interactive games and hands-on activities, students will strengthen their skills while enjoying the joy of making music together. Perfect for students looking to enhance their musical skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Science isn’t just all formulas and equations-there is an art to it, too. This workshop combines the best of art and the best of science as you create some amazing artwork. Make your science inspired art creations. With a little bit of experimentation and a lot of creativity, you’ll be surprised at how beautiful science can be!
