#200 Into the Land of Fairies

  • Completing grades K-2

  • 9:00 - 12:00  South School  $275

 Enter the fantastic, fascinating and magical world of fairies! Examine all kinds of fairy literature to find out where fairies live, what they like to do, what they wear and the food they like to eat.  We will spend time outside creating fairy houses and fairy gardens. Read, write, draw and play games that the fairies love to play.  If you have a wonderful imagination, then this class is for you!

#201  Top Chef

  • Completing grades 3-6

  • 9:00 - 12:00  South School  $300

Open up and say yummmm!  In this weeklong camp, you will learn the sweet science behind cooking and baking some amazing food!  Our top chefs and their assistants will help you whip up some old favorites to some brand new, top-secret recipes.   By the end of the week, you will be able to go home and turn your own kitchen into a world-famous eatery!

#202 Lights, Camera, Action!

  • Completing grades 3-6

  • 9:00 - 12:00  South School  $275

Does your child love movies and storytelling? In this hands-on video production camp, kids will learn the basics of filmmaking, from scriptwriting and camera techniques to editing their own short films using iPads. Throughout the week, they’ll work in small groups to bring their creative ideas to life, filming and editing a final project to share. No prior experience is needed—just imagination and a love for creating! The week ends with a mini film festival where students can showcase their work.

Don’t lose STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) this summer! Combine your love of reading and your passion for science into one funfilled camp experience. We will explore a number of scientific challenges and engineering concepts through a variety of well known and entertaining storybooks.

#204 The Stars and Planets

  • Completing grades 3-6

  • 10:30-12:30  New Canaan High School Dome $200

Students will learn about the night sky through the mythology and stories people have told to breathe life and meaning into the tapestry of stars and planets people have been watching since the dawn of time.  Students will learn the tips and tricks of celestial navigation and identify all of the major summer constellations and stars that can be viewed in our night sky.  Students will also make a 3-D model of one of the constellations we will learn about as a reminder to remain in awe of our night sky.

#205 Clay Creations

Come out and clay this summer! Try your hand at the traditional methods of ceramics, including pinch pots, coil, and slab techniques.  We will discover endless possibilities while exploring a variety of modeling clays including kiln fired, air dry and model magic.  Get ready to show off your clay creations!

#206 Junior Arts Studio

Explore diverse media in a playful atmosphere.  The teacher’s demonstration will act as a springboard to explore, experiment, and create authentic art pieces each day.  Closing each session with a reflection circle, students will have the opportunity to offer positive observations about classmates’ work and reflect on their own discoveries.

This camp is perfect for all crafting abilities, whether you are learning the basics or ready to elevate your crafting skills. Come explore the beauty and creativity of crafting as we make T-shirts, stickers, mugs, and more!

 Any fashion-forward person knows that the key to great fashion is the accessories.  Create your very own unique fashion statement and become a trendsetter.  Style and customize your own jewelry, headbands, hair ties, belts, and clothing just the way you want them.  You name it, we can make it!

Science isn’t just all formulas and equations-there is an art to it, too. This workshop combines the best of art and the best of science as you create some amazing artwork. Make your science inspired art creations. With a little bit of experimentation and a lot of creativity, you’ll be surprised at how beautiful science can be!
